Creative Space Planning for Your Spare Bedroom, Sunroom or Bonus Room!

Summer is a great time to visit creative ideas for space planning whether you’re looking for ways to improve your current home or you’ll be shopping for a new one.

We encourage all our home buyers (and homeowners) to consider thoughtfully and creatively how they’ll live within their homes, and have ideas to share about how to plan for the use of spare bedrooms, sunrooms and bonus rooms too – each of which is an important space resource!

Spare bedrooms make outstanding home office space, fitness rooms or a yoga studio, a dedicated craft or hobby area — and sometimes even super-sized walk-in closet spaces fitted with organizers for clothing, shoes and accessories!

Sunrooms are often open to other living spaces within the home and are just right for a tea room or morning coffee, a reading room or personal library, a gathering space for visiting with family or friends, or perhaps a special dining area for entertaining!

Bonus rooms vary with the floor plan. These areas may be more open to the rest of the living space than a spare bedroom which can easily be closed-off, but less open than a sunroom. The usual placement of bonus rooms within the design of a home make these areas excellent for use as traditional dens, modern media rooms, home libraries and play spaces for children!

Most importantly… Have fun imagining your home place, how you’ll enjoy your time within it!

We hope you’ll remember us when you’re ready to take the next steps toward owning a first home or transitioning from one home to another!
